Teton National Park
What you need to know
Teton National Park is an all time favorite for me! If we go I might think about telling you what Teton means haha. I grew up around here so I am very familiar with the area. You can get anything from lakes, rivers, mountains, trees, pines, old barns, open fields, to wildlife, cabins, mountain reflections and amazing sunsets.
The time of year will greatly impact your experience.
Winter (Nov-April) will likely have snow on the ground, which makes the mountains look AMAZING but it is very chilly. It’s significantly less busy and also easier to spot wildflife if that is your thing!
Spring (May-June) is mild, you still have snow on the mountains while having no snow on the ground we walk on. We start to see wildflowers around this time, and this is also when tourists start to pop up. Comfy day temps, cold night temps.
Summer (July-August) is warm, sometimes hot but not too bad. Sometimes there is snow on the mountains in most spots but usually most is melted except for a few glaciers. This is also the busiest and most crowded time of year.
Fall (September-October) it starts to get chilly, and fall is just amazing here! Many of the trees change colors and if you hit it at the right time it can be so magical. Warm days and cold nights. Also fairly busy during this time.
This location is good year round, though more busy in the warmer months. I edit everyone out anyway but sometimes parking is hard, but usually not too bad.

Eloping or getting married here? Here is the page to access the info for how to reserve a permit. They are one of the more strict (and crazy) parks when it comes to permits and rules so it will be important to snag this ahead of time. If we have a group of 5 or less people and adhere to park rules we don’t need a permit.
